Primary Election – May 15, 2012

 

Idaho State Campaign Finance (Sunshine) Reporting - Each candidate for elected office in Cassia County is required to comply with the Sunshine Law. That includes financial reporting as outlined in the candidate packet provided each person who declared candidacy. It can also be downloaded as follows:

Idaho Sunshine Law Reporting Dates for the 2011/2012 Election Cycle is provided as follows:

Each place in the provided instructions where it refers to “Secretary of State’s Office” for reporting, it must be substituted for “County Elections Office” and each place where it refers to the “Attorney General’s Office” it must be substituted for “County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office” for all candidates who file for a county elected office.

 

All finance reporting must comply with the Sunshine Law for financial disclosure for all Cassia County candidates and must be filed by the appropriate deadlines. All reporting is public information and the custodian of that information is the Cassia County Clerk.

 

**IMPORTANT CAMPAIGN SIGNAGE AND ADVERTISING INFORMATION**

All signage and advertising printed or verbal for Cassia County Candidates must contain a disclosure such as “Paid for by (Name) for (Elected Office)” or “Paid for by (Name) for (Elected Office), (Name), Treasurer.” Violations of that Sunshine Law requirement will be referred by the Cassia County Elections Office to the Cassia County Prosecutor’s Office if not corrected.

 

All candidates should have received a letter from the Idaho Transportation Department dated April 18, 2012, regarding placement of political signage in the rights-of-way of the Idaho State highway system. Any signage that has been removed or picked up by the Idaho Transportation Department can be retrieved up to 10 days following removal at the following location:
